Mooi Architects, like the Bauhaus, is a place where daring, creative thinking and risk-taking are basic attitudes towards learning and making. Founded and led by Jason Mooi, Mooi Architects was born from the idea that architecture is more than just a concrete building or a brick house, it is an offering to the users, the community and the city.

Architect is more than just a building designer, but someone who can apply creative thinking and understanding of design to develop thought-provoking solutions to address the needs. Our design philosophy is based on integrity and creating timeless architecture that promote a better life.

We believe that architecture is about collaboration. By making the design process explicit and transparent, we can find the true voice and identity for the project. We uphold teamwork and work closely with clients and project teams. We invite you to participate in the design journey and listen to your needs. Together, we explore, develop and refine the design ideas, and seek to find the right design approach that best reflects the brief and context. 

Our practice invests in talented people and we work with the best people in the industry to achieve the best results. And just like the Bauhaus, we do small things in a great way and nothing else matters in the absence of great work.

We are forward-thinking and live in the future. We do things a little differently here, rather than aiming big, we choose to be great every single time.

Mooi Architects is a Melbourne-based architectural practice with international operation. We have an offshore office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and have on-going projects in Australia and South East Asia.

DIRECTOR & FOUNDER

Jason Mooi

Jason graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Architectural Studies. Having completed his architecture studies in Australia and Germany, Jason travelled around the world to witness and experience some of the most remarkable buildings and cities. He is a registered architect in Victoria and a member of the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) and Architects Registration Board of Victoria (ARBV).

Prior to founding Mooi Architects, Jason was an Associate at one of Melbourne’s largest architectural practices where he led the delivery team in the company and delivered multiple large-scale projects in Australia working closely with both local and international high profile developers. Jason has also previously worked at a Melbourne-based quality property developer where he obtained his knowledge and skills in property development.

Not adhering to a certain style, he has a rigorous approach to the design and delivery process and a meticulous eye for detail. From the Pantheon in Athen to the Louvre Museum in Paris; from Mies van der Rohe to Sir Norman Foster, Jason is constantly learning from the past and present. He nurtures and practices the notion of Questions and Answers, and puts 100% into everything he does. He only has one agenda - to deliver your goal.
